IV Sedation & Anesthesia
Our team wants your treatment to be as comfortable and pain free as possible. We offer a variety of sedation options to our patients to ensure comfort and peace of mind. At your consultation appointment, Dr. Nishimoto will discuss with you the various sedation options and help develop a treatment plan that caters to your personal needs and goals.
Types of Anesthesia
We offer several types of anesthesia and sedation, including:
Local Anesthesia: This type of anesthetic is injected directly into the site to numb the area. Local anesthesia can be used with other types of sedation, such as laughing gas.
Laughing Gas: Patients who would like to feel more relaxed during their procedure but still want to remain conscious can opt for laughing gas (nitrous oxide). It is used in conjunction with local anesthesia.
Intravenous (IV) Sedation: IV sedation allows the patient to enter a sleep-like state throughout the procedure. IV sedation is a common anesthetic option for patients undergoing procedures such as wisdom teeth removal, dental implant placement, and more.
Hospital or Surgery Center Based General Anesthesia: For more extensive procedures, such as orthognathic surgery or facial trauma treatment, general anesthesia may be administered in a hospital or surgery center. This type of anesthesia will be administered by an anesthesiologist.
